BHS Student Council Hosts Successful Voter Registration Drive

Brownwood High School Student Council hosted a voter registration drive on campus on Thursday, September 24, giving eligible seniors the opportunity to take an important step toward civic participation.

Two Brown County Volunteer Deputy Registrars were on campus to assist students with the registration process. By the end of the drive, 22 BHS seniors had registered to vote, making the event a HUGE success!

The drive was open to seniors who will turn 18 and become eligible to vote before the end of the year. In addition to providing students with a convenient opportunity to register, the event encouraged students to recognize the importance of civic engagement and participating in the democratic process. Student Council is proud to help BHS students become informed and engaged members of their community. For many of the students who registered today, this marked their first opportunity to take an active role in the electoral process.

BHS Student Council plans to host another voter registration drive in the spring for seniors who will turn 18 after the beginning of the new year, ensuring that even more members of the Class of 2027 have the opportunity to register before graduation.

A special thank you goes to the Brown County Volunteer Deputy Registrars who volunteered their time to come to BHS and help make the drive a success. 22 new voters. One great day for civic engagement at BHS!
