Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are reaching out to provide some context regarding the presence of emergency responders and a medical helicopter near Northwest Elementary today. We know that seeing this kind of activity near the school can be unsettling, and we want to make sure you have accurate information directly from us.

Earlier today, the field across from our campus was used as a landing zone for a medical helicopter. We are deeply saddened to share that the medical transport was for a member of our teaching staff who suffered a serious injury at their nearby home. Because their residence is so close to the school, that area provided the most immediate and secure location for the first responders to land.

While this heartbreaking situation did not take place on campus, we understand that witnessing the emergency response, and learning that one of our teachers is involved, can be difficult for our school community. Please know that student safety is always our priority, and all regular campus activities have continued safely.

Our hearts are with our staff member and their family, and we ask that everyone respect their privacy during this incredibly difficult time. Counselors are available as we move through this, and we have support teams ready for any student or staff member who needs support.
