Brownwood ISD recognizes the importance of educating staff and students about mental health issues and continues to develop proactive approaches to meet the needs of those students who need mental health support. The district strives to creat a safe and supportive enviornment that aids in the identification, intervention, and collaboration to serve the needs of identified students.
Our district's mental health initiative seeks to a.) support those with mental health issues, b.)provide resources to the campus to address mental health issues, and c.) ensure coordination of appropriate levels of services with local stakeholders.
As part of this ongoing emphasis, Brownwood ISD maintains a district-wide mental health therapist, working in collaboration with behavior specialist, campus counselors, teachers, and families to coordinate and provide students the services they need.
