RTI
RTI stands for Response to Intervention.
- It is a multi-tiered system of support - a systematic process that helps ensure all students receive the time and support needed to learn at high levels.
- RTI focuses on early and continuous identification, assessment, and assistance of students.
- RTI is typically aimed at addressing trouble spots and building underdeveloped prerequisite skills to accelerate learning.
- Tier 1 is typical classroom instruction given to all students in the class.
- Tier 2 is targeted, small group instruction for students who need more time and teaching to master a specific skill.
- Tier 3 is intensive, targeted small group instruction for students who have not been successful with tier 1 or tier 2 interventions.
- Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions generally happen during WIN time or in small groups in the classroom.
