Brownwood HOSA Students Awarded at Area Conference

Brownwood High School (BHS) HOSA (Future Health Professionals) students recently participated in the organization’s Area Conference. Brownwood HOSA students earned various awards and scholarships, and will move on to participate at the state level. Three students placed second in their event to qualify for the state conference: Persyus Mares in Home Health Aide, Emory May in Veterinary Science, and Hannah Deen in Job Seeking Skills. Miranda Angeles-Torres placed in the top 10% of the Health Care Issues Exam. In addition, two seniors applied and received a State HOSA Scholarship. Emma Ringer received a $5,000 Scholarship, and Allison Godinho received a $3,000 scholarship.

“Brownwood HOSA will be traveling to Galveston next week, April 2-5, to compete at the State Leadership Conference,” said BHS Health Science teacher Annalyn Deen. “We are looking forward to success and are hopeful for qualification to the 47th International HOSA Leadership Conference to be held in Houston, Texas in June.”
