On Tuesday, July 30, 2019 the Brownwood ISD Board of Trustees met and approved a reformed compensation package for employees that includes raises, retention incentives, and more.  Compensation highlights include the following:

  • Returning teachers will see an increase based on years of experience. The total compensation, including incentive opportunities, ranges from 6% – 19%.
  • Returning librarians and registered nurses will see an increase based on years of experience. The total compensation, including incentive opportunities, ranges from 4% – 16%.
  • All returning counselors, administrators, salaried non-exempt employees, and hourly employees will see a 3% salary increase. These employees also have the opportunity of receiving a 2% retention incentive with a minimum of $500.
  • TRS ActiveCare 1HD employee only premiums continue to be fully paid by the district.
  • Free lunches will continue to be provided to school employees.

Details regarding the new compensation plan and FAQs can be found on the district website at www.brownwoodisd.org/compensationplan.

“Teachers are the most critical piece of the education system. I’m proud that we are able to differentiate our compensation to benefit those who give so much of themselves to our kids each day,” stated Brownwood ISD Superintendent, Dr. Joe Young. “All our staff members are here to support teachers in the classroom, so I’m equally as proud we are able to raise their compensation substantially. This is a great time for our staff and a transformational time for our district.”
