Brownwood ISD Partners with GermBlast as Proactive Measure to Help Protect Students and Staff from Flu and Illness
Brownwood ISD is proud to partner with GermBlast® this school year. The GermBlast® service kills microorganisms in the environment that cause illness and infection such as the flu, stomach bug, staph infection, strep throat and much more.
“While we did not have to close, the flu hit our campuses hard last year. If we do not have our teachers and students in class, we are wasting opportunities,” said Brownwood ISD Superintendent, Dr. Joe Young. “In an effort to be aggressive in combating absences, this past weekend we did a deep-cleaning of all our campus classrooms and offices.”
The partnership provides the district with a healthier educational environment in which students are more likely to reach their full academic and athletic potential.
“We contracted with Germblast to disinfect and apply a germ barrier to all surfaces across the district. This will be done several times this spring,” stated Dr. Young. “Germblast also works with our custodians on training to ensure we clean on a daily basis in the most effective manner. Our students and staff are our number one priority, and we believe this is the right step to help keep everyone healthy.”
