East Elementary celebrated Dr. Seuss’s Birthday and participated in Reading Across the Nation on Thursday, March 5. Dr. Seuss’s Birthday and National Read Across America Day is a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually (officially on March 2).
Dubbed “Dr. Seuss Day,” many teachers and students were dressed up as a Dr. Seuss character to make the event even more fun. Parents, grandparents, BHS National Honor Society members, and many other volunteers came to help and read to the students.
“I always say, readers are leaders,” noted Mrs. Dee Dee Wright, Principal of East Elementary.
Through events like this, East Elementary continues to make reading exciting for students as the books come alive with costumes, activities, and reading stations.
