Third Grade Fan of Local Railroad Museum Gets a Special Gift from Curator
When representatives from the City of Brownwood visited East Elementary for a recent video production, one of the students interviewed was third-grader Nathan Carter.
“One of the questions they asked was, ‘What do you like most about living in Brownwood,’” said East Elementary Principal, Nanda Wilbourn. “He did not hesitate at all. His immediate answer was, ‘Going to the train museum!’”
Following the release of the video, The Martin & Francis Lehnis Railroad Museum Curator, Crystal Stanley, contacted Wilbourn to arrange a meeting with Nathan. “She contacted me to see if she could bring a gift bag from the museum to Nathan,” said Wilbourn noting that the bag contained passes to the museum, a coloring book and a conductor’s hat. “Needless to say, he was delighted and so was she.”
