Brownwood ISD Announces Pre-Registration Events for New Students and Pre-K/Kindergarten
Brownwood ISD is gearing up for the new school year. Pre-registration events for new students (any grade), as well as pre-k and kindergarten students, will be held on Tuesday, August 1, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday, August 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at BISD Central Support Center (2707 Southside Drive).

Brownwood Middle School Inducts 44 New National Junior Honor Society Members
On Monday, March 27, Brownwood Middle School held an induction ceremony for new members of the National Junior Honor Society. A total of 11 new 8th grade members and 33 new 7th grade members were inducted during the ceremony.

Small Robots Enhance Learning at Brownwood Middle School Through Teaching Grant
Brownwood Education Foundation provided the Brownwood Middle School Seventh Grade Science Teachers with a $3,000 grant to purchase innovative tools for their classrooms for the 2022-23 school year. Ozobot, an award-winning robotic platform, makes it easy for students to learn and explore coding. The small robot is semi-autonomous and portable. Older students can use advanced coding, while younger students learn basic functions to program the behavior of the robot.

Seventh and eighth grade choir students at BMS have been working on their sight reading skills. Thanks to a Brownwood Education Foundation grant, “Sight Reading Factory” subscriptions were purchased and the students have been using them weekly.

Emergency Drills to be Held at Brownwood ISD Schools
In order to maintain a safe environment for our children to study and learn, it is necessary that the BISD practice emergency response procedures by utilizing drills designed to exercise the plans and protocols. Starting Monday April 25 through Thursday April 28, Brownwood ISD will be conducting campus evacuation drills for every campus within the district.

BISD Partners with Education Foundation to Provide School Supplies for Students
The Brownwood Education Foundation has partnered with BISD to fund the project. "BEF and BISD have been talking about it for several years," said Liesa Land, BISD Deputy Superintendent, "so this year we just reached out and asked them. Parents will only be asked to send the two to three things on the school supply list. Everything else will be provided."

BISD Announces Update Regarding Masks
