Meet The Lions Coming August 15 at Gordon Wood Stadium
The annual Meet the Lions event will take place at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15 at Gordon Wood Stadium. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. Band boosters will be selling fresh grilled burgers in addition to popcorn, candy, pickles, nachos and drinks/refreshments.

Brownwood FFA members recently attended the 94th annual Texas FFA State Convention. Students from all over Texas descended upon legendary Fort Worth to gain leadership skills, celebrate accomplishments, and continue striving for excellence in competition.

The Brownwood High School (BHS) Academic Awards Ceremony was held Thursday, May 19, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. in the BHS Auditorium. Students were honored in a variety of academic and extracurricular fields, including the 2022 BHS Valedictorian and Salutatorian presentations.

Brownwood Culinary Arts Students Pick Up Professional Insights from Local Restaurant Chefs
Brownwood High School (BHS) Culinary Arts and Advanced Culinary Arts students attended a field trip visiting The Hideout Golf & Resort and The Turtle Restaurant. Students in tenth through twelfth grade enjoyed a day with tactile field immersion in the culinary industry.

Brownwood High School Theatre Earns 4A Conference Champion Title
Over 240 schools participated in the 4A Conference UIL Theatre State competition. UIL totals each school’s scores in these events to determine the overall 4A Theatre Champion. With these wins, the points accumulated earned the BHS Lion Varsity Players a tie with Paris North Lamar for First Place 4A Theatre Team for the entire state of Texas.

Five BHS HOSA Students Awarded Scholarships and Four Qualify for International Competition
BHS HOSA members returned from a successful trip to State competition in Galveston, Texas, with many accolades and scholarships including four students who qualified for Internationals and seven students who placed in the Top Ten.

Brownwood High School Students Earn FAA Commercial Drone Pilot Licenses
On April 27 and 28 several Brownwod High School (BHS) students traveled to Abilene to take their FAA Commercial Unmanned Aviation (drone) Pilot license exam. Eight young men and women earned their license and are now legally able to conduct drone operations for compensation.

Emergency Drills to be Held at Brownwood ISD Schools
In order to maintain a safe environment for our children to study and learn, it is necessary that the BISD practice emergency response procedures by utilizing drills designed to exercise the plans and protocols. Starting Monday April 25 through Thursday April 28, Brownwood ISD will be conducting campus evacuation drills for every campus within the district.

The BHS Band and BMS Band performed at the UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluation on March 30 at Stephenville High School. The students earned a first-division rating from all of the judges and the band received the UIL Sweepstakes award.

BHS Choirs Earn Sweepstakes at UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Event
Sixty BHS Choir students from three different choir classes participated in the UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Event in Stephenville on Tuesday, March 29. The Treble Choir and A Cappella Choir earned a Sweepstakes trophy for receiving all ones (highest rating) on their concert and sight-reading.
