If your student does not know his or her BISD email address and/or password or is having difficulty logging in with their email, please contact the student's homeroom teacher or email Ann Fowler at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Daily Messages to Students:
If a parent/guardian needs to get a message to his/her child before the end of the school day, please call the office with the message before 3:00PM (unless it is an emergency). The offices get very busy at the end of the school day and we do not want to inadvertently miss getting an important message to a child.
Students Leaving Early for a Pep Rally:
If a parent/guardian is going to pick up his/her child early to attend a BHS pep rally, parents/guardians must have their ID, and on the student's pick up list. Please plan ahead for crowds, as it gets very busy retriving students from classrooms. We will not be accepting notes or phone calls at this time.
Afternoon Pick- Up Procedures
A-4th Grade- Homerooms for Bennett, Crosby, Grider, Land, Long, Templeton, and Tippit
B-4th Grade- Homerooms for Fell, Harding, Kemp, Maninger, E. Smith, and Welch
C- 5th Gr. Jaguars
D- 5th Gr. Owls & Wolves, 6th Gr. Team 6-2 & multigrade carpool
E-6th Gr. Teams 6-1 & 6-3
Heavy Rain Alternate Pick-Up procedure*:
1. All 4th grade will be picked up at the front of the school at 800 Rogan in the circle drive.
2. All 5th grade will be picked up in the cafeteria parking lot at Zone D.
3. Carpool pick-up lane remains the same in Zone D.
4. 6th grade pick up remains the same; Team 6-2 in Zone D and Teams 6-1 and 6-3 in Zone E.
*In case of heavy rains, the alternate pick-up procedure will be put into place. This only affects students who normally get picked up by parents/guardians. Those students who walk, ride the bus, or ride a bike are not effected. Parents/guardians will be notified via School Messenger (text and email) when the alternate pick-up procedure is being used.
We recognize details are essential to families, and changing plans are incredibly frustrating. We hope establishing the following dates well in advance will help with planning, and provide the best opportunity for favorable health conditions and fewer social distancing restrictions.
Student progress reports will be distributed on May 5th. Each teacher will report student learning as “P” for Progressing or “NP” for Not Progressing. For 2020 BHS seniors, an information sheet containing FAQs has been posted.
During a meeting on April 21st, the Commissioner of Education let districts know that virtual graduation ceremonies are approved, and in-person person graduation ceremonies are pending. This update includes a summary of the district-level discussion items.
Based on the April 17th executive order of Governor Abbott, the Bangs, Blanket, Brookesmith, Brownwood, Coleman, Early, May, Panther Creek, Santa Anna, and Zephyr ISDs will only be providing off-campus instruction for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.
