As of March 6, all student course grades are considered frozen. All completed off-campus instructional materials will be assessed, which will allow teachers, parents, and students to monitor progress on the concepts covered. Careful consideration will be given on how completed coursework will impact course grades, GPA, and class rank.

Aubrey Kirk has been selected to receive the Houston Livestock Show scholarship in the amount of $20,000. This is a renewable scholarship, meaning after two years, if she meets the qualifications and standards of the scholarship, she is awarded $20,000 more. Thanks to the generosity of numerous scholarship donors, the Texas FFA will award more than 140 scholarships to outstanding graduating seniors through its academic scholarship program. These scholarships are awarded based on academic and FFA achievements as well as the member's performance in an interview process.
The Debra Kirkland Memorial Scholarship was created to honor a Brownwood ISD senior who embodied the compassionate and enthusiastic spirit of Kirkland, the twenty-five-year BISD employee who passed away in 2016. This was the first year the scholarship became available to a BHS senior who had served for two years as a SOTX Best Buddy. Madison Arial, a BHS Senior who has been a SOTX Best Buddy since her freshman year, has been selected as the first recipient.
Based on Governor Abbott’s Executive Orders released on June 3rd, Brownwood ISD is making positive adjustments to Friday’s parade and graduation ceremony.
Graduation for the BHS Class of 2020 is planned at Gordon Wood Stadium (GWS), 3206 Milam Drive Brownwood, TX 76801, on June 5th at 8:15 pm. A ticket for each guest is required for Friday’s BHS graduation at Gordon Wood Stadium. Tickets will not be available at the gate. Guest tickets must be picked up prior to Friday in the front office of BHS from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. A health form for each individual attending graduation must be turned in prior to receiving a ticket. Senior graduates do not need a ticket, but must turn in a health form to participate in the ceremony.
