What is the Teacher Incentive Allotment in BISD?

    Teacher Incentive Allotment

The Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) was created by the Texas Legislature as part of House Bill 3 to provide a realistic pathway for top-performing teachers to earn higher salaries and help retain and attract highly effective teachers.

Brownwood ISD is part of Cohort, and the BISD TIA Local Designation System was approved in August of 2022. The 2022-2023 school year will be the data capture year for eligible teachers participating in the TIA program.

The exact amount of compensation available to a designated teacher is dependent on a formula determined at the state level, which takes into account the number of students who are economically disadvantaged.

Who is eligible to earn a designation in BISD

    • Teachers who teach a content area that has
STAAR Progress Measures  (STAAR Transition Table)

    • 1-3 Teachers of Math with IReady assessment

    • K-3 Campus Reading Interventionist (RTI, Dyslexia) with DIBELS assessment

    • Teachers who possess or obtain National Board Certification

Teachers who have obtained National Board Certification can still achieve a higher designation by meeting the standards set forth within the BISD local designation system.
