Breakfast & Lunch
Brownwood ISD food service will be continuing its COVID-19 meal service by transitioning to a Summer Feeding Program, starting June 1st. We will still be offering curbside style food pick-up at the same three locations (Northwest, East, and Brownwood HS) from 11am-1pm. The three school sites will be open as long as participation levels remain steady. Should any changes occur, we will notify the community.
Also, starting June 1st, there will be no Monday morning breakfast pick-ups from 7:30-8:30am. Staff will provide Monday morning breakfast items with Friday’s lunch meal so that meal services are not reduced in any way.
An exciting new school year is quickly approaching, and Northwest Elementary School will be welcoming students with a new principal, added grade levels, and a renewed spirit of academic excellence.
In order to maintain a safe environment for our children to study and learn, it is necessary that the BISD practice emergency response procedures by utilizing drills designed to exercise the plans and protocols. Starting Monday April 25 through Thursday April 28, Brownwood ISD will be conducting campus evacuation drills for every campus within the district.
The Brownwood Education Foundation has partnered with BISD to fund the project. "BEF and BISD have been talking about it for several years," said Liesa Land, BISD Deputy Superintendent, "so this year we just reached out and asked them. Parents will only be asked to send the two to three things on the school supply list. Everything else will be provided."
