BROWNWOOD ISD (BISD) will officially restart its Watch D.O.G.S.—or Dads of Great Students—program for the 2022-23 school year to help boost student safety in its elementary schools. Free Pizza Night Kickoff events are scheduled for Woodland Heights and East Elementary schools.
On Monday, October 3, Congressman August Pfluger, representing the 11th District of Texas, made a visit to Brownwood’s East Elementary School. Pfluger congratulated the teachers and staff for the recent National Blue Ribbon award and presented the school with a U.S. flag that had been flown over the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C.
East Elementary is among the schools in Brownwood which will see a host of changes for the upcoming school year. With the implementation of Project Neighborhood the school located at 2700 Vincent will now house PK-5th grade classes, which will add the energy and smiling faces of fourth and fifth-grade students to the campus.
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) announced the nomination of twenty-six Texas public schools as 2022 National Blue Ribbon School designees. Thirteen of these nominations earn the designation of Exemplary High-Performing Schools. East Elementary of Brownwood ISD has earned a nomination as an Exemplary High-Performing Blue Ribbon school.
