Jump Rope for Heart On Valentine's Day, Coach Mackey's 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders performed their amazing jump rope skills. Students performed individual skills, partner skills, and group skills with short and long ropes. Each class ended with an endurance contest to see who could jump rope the longest. Students raised over $8700 with the event for the American Heart Association.

Open House Obstacle Course Coach Mackey had an obstacle course set up for Open House. Students and their siblings got to test their athletics skills for fun.

Alan Wallace
Guest Harpist On February 22, Miss Emily Clarkson came to Woodland Heights and gave a harp presentation to each music class. Miss Clarkson, who is 16 years old, has received a number of scholarships and awards, including the Nancy Seaberry Frost Scholarship, the Kathrin Fause Award from the American Harp Society, was named a "Young Master" by the Texas Commission on the Arts, and was selected this year as the principal harpist for the Texas Music Educators Association's All-State Symphony Orchestra. Miss Clarkson performed several pieces for the students, including a classical French arrangement, a Hebrew folk song from Israel, a Latin piece from Paraguay, and a couple Irish folk songs. The students sang along as she finished the performance with "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star."

Christmas Programs It's the time of year for our fantastic musical Christmas programs. Mr. Wallace put together some wonderful presentations, and each grade level performed their own program. Our PTO did a spectacular job of decorating the stage.

Patriotic Program Mr. Wallace directed a wonder Patriotic Program. The students sang patriotic songs and waved Old Glory.

Halloween Program In October, students performed a scary Halloween Program, complete with giant, illuminated Jack-O-Lanterns.
