Tammy Glass * * * * * * * A Trip to the Zoo On Thursday, April 24th, the kindergarten and pre-kindergarten classes took a field trip to the Abilene Zoo. The got up close to the giraffes and saw many other interesting animals.

Wacky Wednesday Wednesday, April 9th, was Wacky Wednesday in Mrs. Wilson's kindergarten class. Everyone dressed wacky for this day. Some wore their socks on their hands, others wore their clothes backwards. A few children even combed their hair wacky. It was a wacky day!

Trip to the Hospital On the final few days of March, the kindergarten classes toured the Emergency Room at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center. The children even got to see a coral reef mural which was painted by a very famous computer teacher.

The Easter Story On March 14th, Mrs. Wellington came to Woodland Heights and told the Easter Story to Mrs. Donald's and Mrs. Orlando's kindergarten students.

Lincoln's Birthday Mrs. Donald's class recognized Abraham Lincoln's birthday by learning about the great president. They read a book about Lincoln, studied his images on a penny, colored pictures of him, and they even made their own top hats and beards.

Counselor Appreciation Week The week of February 4th was Counselor Appreciation Week. Mrs. Orlando's class honored our school counselor, Mrs. Bennett, by making a huge card for her.

100th Day of School! January 31st marked the 100th day of this school year. To commemorate this special day, kindergarten students made posters with 100 items, made collections of 100 objects, and measured and drew a 100 inch worm!

Cartoon Time On Friday, January 25th, Professor Wheelington from Howard Payne University taught Mrs. Orlando's class how to draw cartoons. They used familiar letters from the alphabet to draw different parts of the face.

Rainbow Ice In January, students in Mrs. Orlando's class made rainbow ice.
* * * * * * *
Brown Co. Youth Fair In early January, Kindergarten students took a field trip to the Brown County Youth Fair. They got to see steers, horses, pigs, goats, and other livestock which had been raised by area youth.
