The Safe & Drug Free Schools is part of the Curriculum Department, and is entirely focused on the health and wellness of our students. Programs include Wellness and Physical Education, Physical Activity, Fitness Testing, School Health Advisory Council (SHAC), and Coordinated Approach to Child Health (CATCH).
The Safe & Drug Free Schools program coordinates the efforts of PE teachers, coaches, health teachers, school nurses, food services and community members. Brownwood Independent School District's goal is to provide all students with skills and knowledge to lead successful and healthy lives through the BISD Choices program, CATCH, and SHAC.
